Pricing

We offer publishing house quality at freelancer prices.

Most book editing agencies and hybrid publishers are way too expensive. They charge twice as much as we do, sometimes $10,000 or more (yes, really) for one round of editing, and you can confirm that yourself by shopping around. Somebody has to pay for their overhead, their office space, their marketing budget, their HR department, and everything else—and that person is you.

Even most small editing agencies charge double the freelancer rate. Honestly, they’re worth it because their editors are among the best in the business, and writers know they can trust the quality of the work. But here at Ink Lab, you get the same level of quality without paying double. We’re lean and mean with virtually zero overhead, so there’s no reason to charge more for our services than we did when we were freelancers. In fact, we still use the Editorial Freelancers Association rate chart to determine our fees, which are as low as you can get without hiring random incompetents off the internet.

All services are customizable, and sometimes we can combine line editing and copyediting into a single editing pass to save you money. You don’t have to hire us to do everything, but we can be a one-stop shop if you want.
